The Gateway Newcomer Planner is to support newcomers in their settlement journey, empowering clients to reach their dreams and goals in Canada. This is done through conducting comprehensive needs assessments, developing personalized plans, providing tailored referrals, and holding orientation sessions and educational workshops. In addition, the Planner provides support for a range of newcomer settlement while offering the necessary first language interpretation /translation service. All newcomers are eligible to access this service, regardless of immigration status or length of time in Canada. Citizens and refugee claimants are also eligible to access Gateway.
